Jaime St. Peter
Associate
Before joining Rower LLC as an associate in 2020, Jaime was an associate in the litigation & arbitration group at Milbank LLP, where she specialized in government investigations, shareholder litigations, and bankruptcy matters. Her pivot to family law began at Milbank, where she led pro bono divorce matters in conjunction with Her Justice, a nonprofit organization that provides free legal help to women living in poverty in New York City. Jaime also gained valuable trial experience during a three-month pro bono internship at the Brooklyn Federal Defender.
Jaime received a BFA in Acting, university honors, from Carnegie Mellon University in 2002. She received her JD, cum laude, from New York Law School in 2008, where she served as an editor on the New York Law School Law Review.
Rower has been grateful for Jaime’s return to the bar after a pause to raise her young children full-time. Jaime is admitted to practice law in New York and now devotes most of her practice to negotiating prenuptial agreements. Her humanities background along with her personal experience with divorce help her understand the complex emotional and material circumstances of her clients’ lives. Jaime negotiates sensitive and thoughtful agreements and takes pride in her ability to think through all possibilities to provide maximum flexibility for her clients. Additionally, she represents clients in divorces, focusing on mediation consults and uncontested divorces, taking a peaceful, collaborative approach to the unwinding of a marriage. While empathy is a core tenet of her philosophy, she is zealously committed to protecting her clients’ best interests at every step of negotiations.
Outside of work, she is involved in community outreach for Plymouth Church, where she leads a meditation group, facilitates interreligious programming, and sings in the choir. She supports fundraising for One State at a Time and the Brooklyn Kindergarten Society, and loves to run, dance, and read in her spare time. Currently, she is a certificate student at Union Theological Seminary, where she focuses on interreligious engagement. She resides in Brooklyn Heights with her two children.
