Dilpreet K. Rai, joined Rower LLC as a partner in August 2022, and has been exclusively practicing matrimonial and family law since 2011. She has represented individuals in all aspects of matrimonial and family law, including complex equitable distribution, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, paternity, orders of protection, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, post judgment enforcement, and custody and support modification matters. Prior to joining Rower LLC, Dilpreet spent eleven years at the matrimonial law firm Hennessey & Bienstock LLP, first as an associate, and then as a partner of the firm.
Dilpreet began her legal career in 2005 as a complex commercial law litigator at Kaye Scholer LLP where she gained valuable experience with sophisticated financial disputes in federal and state courts. During her tenure she was recognized for her commitment to pro bono work on a variety of family law matters, including her representation of individuals in Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) immigration cases and uncontested divorces.
Dilpreet received a BA in Political Science and Women’s Studies, magna cum laude with distinction, from Barnard College, Columbia University in 2002, and was the recipient of the Barnard College Jane S. Gould Award for outstanding written work, and the Columbia University’s King’s Crown Leadership Award. She received her law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2005. During law school, Dilpreet participated in the Courtroom Advocates Program in Family Court and served as a student assistant district attorney in the Family Violence Bureau of the New York County District Attorney’s Office.
Dilpreet is admitted to the bar in the States of New Jersey (2005) and New York (2006), the U.S. District Court of New Jersey, and the Southern and Eastern District Courts of New York. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York State Women’s Bar Association, and the South Asian Bar Association of New York. Dilpreet has lectured on various topics of matrimonial law such as equitable distribution and spousal support.
Dilpreet lives with her husband and three children in Hoboken, New Jersey.
